We have
a place for you!

There's a lot of work to be done in the ministry!  Bishop and Elect Lady Johnson appreciate and thank the Kingdom Builders of MTCOF.  Your work, contribution, and dedication are greatly appreciated and necessary for the ministry to continue to serve the community and to help spread the Good News.

Whether you want to offer your talent in service to the church body, or just want to fellowship, MTCOF has a dynamic and diverse team of ministries in service to the Lord Jesus Christ.  Our ministries offer classes, go on trips, intercede in prayer, comfort the infirm, sponsor conferences, screen movies, take day trips, and so much more.  At MTCOF, you will find the following types of ministries in action.

The Pastor will offer pastoral leadership to the congregation alongside clergy and lay ministers. The Pastor will ensure that the systems, practices, and policies of the church responsibly and effectively support its ministry activities.

A Mother in the Church is expected to assist the pastor with various tasks, including ministering to the church's young congregants, providing representation during church activities.  A Church Mother also prays for the pastor and communicates with the church deacons to ensure that he has everything he needs for ministry. If problems arise within or among the congregation, a Church Mother brings those problems to the pastor's attention.

Church Mothers set an example for younger congregants (especially women) in a number of ways. For example, they may dress in a certain way to demonstrate appropriately conservative Christian attire. Church Mothers also refrain from gossiping and idleness and aspire to Christlike character and actions in all circumstances. Additionally, Church Mothers are expected to raise their children to be godly and to act with integrity.

Music & Creative Arts Ministries

MTCOF Creative Arts Ministries are vital and appreciated!  Our dynamic leaders, musicians, and singers deliver stirring and uplifting songs of praise unto the Lord. The Music and Creative Arts Ministries consist of the Musicians, Praise Dancers, MTCOF Choir, the Pastor Choir, and various individuals that sign up for Special Music.

Individuals in this ministry must know the goals of the congregation in order to support and expand the ministry goals through music and inspiration.  Learn about worship and the people in your congregation and community so you can plan worship opportunities appropriate to the community.  The worship team must be sensitive to new worship styles and to congregational traditions.  Work with other ministry leaders so that worship celebrates the whole life of the congregation and community.

Drama Ministry: This ministry encourages and equips actors, writers, and directors to perform great stories that are relevant to today's culture, and explore the spiritual dimensions of life.

People are affected by 50% of what they see and 20% of what they hear.  Therefore, this ministry was established to serve as another method to witness to others as God's Word of practical lessons for daily living is channeled.  The intent is to share, uplift, and encourage through drama presentations.

Usher

An usher stands by the sanctuary door and designated areas throughout the sanctuary and greets people as they enter the church creating an atmosphere of welcoming and acceptance.  The usher may shake hands, give a kiss on the cheek, or simply enjoy a pleasant chat with people as they arrive.  The usher also distributes church materials such as bulletin/order of service, church newsletters, offering, and tithes envelopes, fans, and tissue.

An usher is responsible for finding seats for the people who enter the church and "ushering" the people to their seats.  Be alert to people who may require assistance, for example finding scripture or healthwise. Ensure that there is not an excessive amount of talking or walking while the church service is in progress and assist with the offering.

Nursing Home Ministry

MTCOF Nursing Home Ministry is a caring ministry, helping people of all ages who find themselves confined to an adult care facility.  Most adult care facilities do not have a chaplain on staff and lack the necessary transportation services needed to transport patients to the physical church building.

The physical and social needs of the residents are usually met, but often the spiritual needs are not met.  Many residents are lonely, unhappy, and even depressed.  Family and friends are gone or live a great distance away. The residents do have emotional and spiritual needs which we are equipped to meet.

We seek ministry volunteers who have given evidence they trust Jesus as their Saviour, who desire to minister in adult care facilities, and who have demonstrated experience and skills in sharing the gospel and showing genuine concern for the spiritual needs of seniors.
